YO Turns One
One year ago today, YO launched with one goal in mind: to enable a crypto economy where anyone can easily earn reliable, transparent yield. Over the past twelve months, YO launched vaults across EVM chains and Solana, introduced the $YO token, and opened its infrastructure to crypto and fintech companies to plug into optimized, risk-aware yield through a single integration.
Through it all, YO stayed true to its core promise: to deliver secure, transparent, risk-adjusted yield. This is the story of year one.
Launching Six yoVaults
If YO is the yield engine for the crypto economy, then yoVaults are the parts that keep it running.
Over the past year, YO launched six flagship vaults. This began with yoETH, which was publicly launched on May 13, 2025. The vault quickly rose to ~$15M TVL in one month. Following shortly after, yoUSD and yoBTC joined the product suite, and more recently, yoEUR, yoGOLD, and yoSOL were introduced to bring you even more opportunities to earn yield on all of your favorite crypto assets. Together, these vaults helped YO become the top yield optimizer on Base, a place it still holds to this day.
In the first year, yoUSD became the largest vault, at its peak held over $45M in TVL while delivering depositors over 10% APY. In total, YO was able to generate over $2M amount of yield for users across all six vaults, and that number will continue to grow as YO expands, bringing greater TVL and new vaults.
Building The Yield Infrastructure for Crypto
As YO evolved and new vaults launched, it became clear that the yield engine shouldn’t just power YO’s own vaults. Thus, the YO thesis expanded with a goal to become the unified yield infrastructure for crypto.
YO Protocol is the unified yield layer that lets crypto and fintech companies plug into optimized, risk-adjusted yield through a single integration. Instead of building a yield function from the ground up, from sourcing strategies, assessing risk, assessing chains and protocols, they can simply integrate YO and focus on their product, brand, and user experience.
Today, YO Protocol powers yield optimization for many apps, including Avvio, Axal, Bleap, Tuyo, and more.
Debuting The $YO Token
The long-term goal has always been for YO to be decentralized, and launching $YO, the native governance token, was the first step towards this goal. With the token launched and claims closed, the next step will be governance. Soon, holders of the $YO token will have the opportunity to shape the future of onchain yield generation.
Looking Ahead
Year one was just the beginning. There’s still more work to be done, from governance to launching a new risk framework to exploring new vault opportunities, but the best is yet to come.
